Mens Style Essential 5. The Revival of the Sweatshirt

A trend that has been making its way back into menswear is the Sweatshirt. But this is no ordinary workout sweatshirt, no, this a leather-patched, patterned, bright colored - sweatshirt which will definitely step your style game up. Here are my two favourite updates:

 The Leather Patch:

For those who aren't aware of Tim Coppens, the brand was made famous for their innovative twist on the bomber style jacket. Now they have been nominated for the Vogue Fashion Fund, and you can watch them elevate and learn how to grow their business. Sorry I got off-topic but there's something about leather patches that are really getting to me. Even though I am more of the suited, dapper-esque style lover, I am really looking into investing a sharp leather patched item. I love this sweatshirt because it not only is really pretty to look at, but it has amazing details. The use of colour on the sleeve created a really cool modern vibe and I love it!

The Bright Coloured Sweatshirt

Everything primary and bright is 'in' this season, which is a minor change from last years pastel and dusty colours. As I had mentioned before, I really am starting to love the sweatshirt trend, but I like staying true to my preppy roots. So if anything, I will more likely invest in just a bright colored one rather than a leather patched. Mainly because this will be a lot more cost effective, it will work better which collared shirts underneath, and is a lot easier to dress up.
